What Is the Fellowship?

The Stay Eyeconic Campus Fellowship is a structured youth leadership and health advocacy programme that trains university students across Nigeria to become champions of eye health in their communities.

Fellows are not just volunteers — they are trained advocates, community organisers, and health-tech ambassadors who carry the mission of accessible eye care into their campuses, neighbourhoods, and networks.

Why We Created:- It The biggest barrier to eye health in Africa is not always distance or cost — it is awareness. Millions of people do not know they have a vision problem. Millions more do not know that help exists and is affordable. We created the fellowship to build a generation of young Nigerians who know, who care, and who act — and who bring others along with them.

Fellowship Structure

Duration: 8 weeks per cohort (with ongoing alumni engagement) 

Format: Hybrid — virtual training sessions + physical campus activities 

Cohort size: Up to 30 fellows per campus

🟢 Advocate

Entry level. Complete training modules, run one awareness campaign

🟡 Organiser

Mid level. Lead a campus activation event, mentor new advocates.

🟣 Fellow Lead

Senior level. Manage campus chapter, liaise with Hub team, represent cohort at national events.

  1. Eye health fundamentals & digital strain awareness
  2. Community leadership & public engagement
  3. Digital storytelling & social media advocacy
  4. Health-tech innovation & AI in healthcare
  5. Data collection & community research basics

What Fellows Receive

  • Official Stay Eyeconic Hub certification
  • Anti-blue light glasses (complimentary)
  • Access to the Stay Eyeconic platform
  • Networking with healthcare professionals and startup founders
  • Priority consideration for internships and job opportunities within the Stay Eyeconic ecosystem
  • Pathway to mentorship and incubation support for fellows with entrepreneurial ideas

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or postgraduate student at an African university
  • Passionate about health, community service, or technology
  • Able to commit 4–6 hours per week for the duration of the cohort

Train. Advocate. Lead. Change.

What Fellows Do

Lead eye health awareness campaigns on campus — on social media, in hostels, in lecture halls, and at student events.

Coordinate free eye screening events and campus activations in partnership with the Stay Eyeconic Hub team.

Gather community-level data on vision health, digital strain, and eye care access — contributing to our national research efforts.

Refer peers and community members to the Stay Eyeconic platform for further care, teleconsultation, and eyewear access.
